Commercial ads may be fast forwarded and as print advertising expires……a TV series, episode or movie lives on and on, seen over and over through reruns, syndication, DVD's and the internet.

Products need to be visible, but not the focus.
When done correctly, product placement can add a sense of realism to a movie or television show that something like a can simply marked "soda" cannot.

Product placement has the effect of increasing product recall, making people more likely to be able to name the product after seeing the content. Product placement not only affects viewers on a conscious level, but viewers can become affected on a subconscious level as well.
